Week Eight - 16. Google Homepage
IGoogle looks like a great tool. I have added the Shifted Librarian and Unshelved gadgets to my homepage. It looks like Google thinks of everything!
I think I would use this again!!!

Week Seven - 15. Google Book Search
Well, I have looked for my favorite books on Google Books and found them easily. I am not sure how this site could be useful for our library - to me using Google on its own or Amazon would be just as useful. However it can give book reviews and other references such as where to buy online (but Amazon does this too).
Week Seven - 14. Google Docs & Spreadsheets
Played a bit with Google Docs. Created a test document. I am trying to upload this to my blog, but it will just be the url - http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dfjxvq89_0dtnbr7gr
I hope it works!!

Week Seven - 13 Play with Google Maps
Hi again 'tis me!
The Google Maps tool is fabulous! I searched for my ex Brisbane house in Chapel Hill and saw a bit of the roof and garden using the satellite function. Also search for my Dad's place in a village called Sparry Bottom, Cornwall UK - the satellite photo of the area was like patchwork green. I searched a route from London to Sparry Bottom - it is so detailed and helpful for travellers. Even calculates the estimated driving time and distance - in this case 291 miles, 5 hours and 9 minutes!!
As I enjoy reading road maps and atlases for fun anyway, I can see Google Maps will be a favorite of mine in the 23 things activities.

Week Six - 12. Get Social
Hi again
Well its been a while since I accessed my blog! Of course I am EXTREMELY behind in doing my 23 things but hopefully I will get it all done!
Anyway I have now explored MySpace and Facebook and created an account for each. I can see this social medium of communication could be addictive! I have asked friends to join me on Facebook - so far so good...
